Keeping Citizen's Advice working
TSC UK was asked to create and arrange a mobile contract proposal for a Citizens Advice Bureau. Staff and volunteers were being asked to work from home and deal with even more hardship cases than normal as a result of restrictions with COVID-19, particularly for voice calls.
The Charity did not want the staff to use their personal phones in case they were called at any time of the day or night by clients once the clients new their personal numbers.
Plan.com were chosen as the best option to offer a low cost tariff with unlimited minutes and texts on a 12 month contract with new mobile numbers on the O2 network. Then Alcatel 1C handsets were chosen as appropriate handsets benefitting from a decent sized clear screen and simple operation at a low purchase cost, reduced still further by TSC UK for this great cause.
A budget for the whole project was given to the Chief Officer of the branch which was agreed with the Trustees and National support was given to cover the budgetted cost.
Once that sum of money was in the bank, the contract was raised and signed, handsets delivered and a contract began in early May all for a cost of £2000 including vat.
This was a real Win-Win-Win scenario. The project was within budget, staff and volunteers can turn their new mobile phones off at the end of a stressful day and TSC UK had heped an organisation suffering in these difficult times.
