Local Businesses Raise £185 for TADDAC
This week's NLB meeting was a slight departure from the norm. As well as the usual insightful 60 second introductions to the 20 or so businesses in the room, the quality passing of leads and the informative presentation from Peter Bourne Communications (on why to use a professional website developer) - there were be a few fund raising activities:
- Everyone was required to buy (and wear!) a red nose
- Anyone not hitting their 60 seconds was fined.
- As Red Nose Day is celebrating 25 years with an Eighties vibe - all members were asked to surreptitously mention an 80s pop song in their 60 seconds. Failure to do so? You guessed it - a fine!
Infact some members mentioned an awful lot of 80s songs in their 60 second introductions - very creatively. Obviously - they were still fined!
In total we raised nearly £185 which will go towards our Chairperson's (Joanne Cooper) chosen charity: Thringstone And District Disabled Activity Club (TADDAC). The money will be used to support the ever-increasing transport costs faced by the group in getting members to and from the club and out on day trips.
Thank you to everyone who took part. An special mention to Graham's long-lost Australian brother, Josh, who explained his involvement in The Sales Company (see picture)!
