NLB Supporting Ashby Food Bank
Currently the members of Networking for Local Business are supporting the Ashby Food Bank as their chosen charity. The Food bank exists to help feed and support people and families in crisis.
Friday 29th November and Saturday 30th November saw volunteers from both NLB and M-EC man a stand at the Tesco store in Loughborough. The aim was to try and encourage shoppers to buy one or two extra items along with their weekly shop. The response was overwhelming. Over the two days nearly 1200kg of food was collected - and Tesco will supplement this with a cash donation equivalent to 30%. This will enable the Foodbank to buy other much needed items such as baby food, nappies etc.
